The Surveillance and Information Sharing Operational Tool (SIS OT)

Header

Zoonotic diseases are transmitted between animals and humans, impacting different aspects of health, both nationally and globally level. The One Health approach is essential to address these health threats at the human-animal-environment interface.

In 2019, the tripartite organisations -Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH)- developed the Tripartite Zoonoses Guide (GZT), which was the sum of a global expert effort to guide and explain best practices for addressing zoonotic diseases in countries.

The Surveillance and Information Sharing Operational Tool (SIS OT) has been developed by tripartite organizations (FAO, WHO, WOAH) to help establish or strengthen their coordinated, multi-sectoral surveillance and information sharing on zoonotic diseases.
