The Regional Commission holds usually a two-year conference in one regional country to discuss one technical theme and organize regional cooperation in the control of animal diseases.

The Regional Commission reports to the International Committee its activities and recommendations when necessary.

for the Middle East is one of five regional commissions created by the WOAH in the world. Its main objective is to tackle specific problems relevant to the veterinary services and establish cooperation between them at the regional level.

the bureau of the Commission is formed of a President, two Vice presidents, and a Secretary-general. It is renewable every 3 years.
